I've closed out my Buy it Nows fics thread, but I still have two things open at [livejournal.com profile] help_japan -

Found Poetry - here

I'm offering to create Found poetry. Sources can be anything from fanfiction (although you'd need the author's permission first) to interviews to articles - really anything with words that you can either link me to or email me a copy/PDF of. If it's anything longer than ~4000 words, email/PM me first to see if I can do it.

Book of Things - here

I’ve copied and saved various things over the years, and I’ve been planning on hand-copying everything into a moleskin. This includes historical love letters, poetry, quotes, incantations, sayings, fables, lyrics, invocations, excerpts from books and myths, and some historical anecdotes.

I’m offering to copy them into a moleskin (5x8.25, 240 pages), for you.

IN OTHER NEWS: Please check out Write for Relief. I've mentioned it before, with the way it's like Yuletide and a reverse auction and pure awesome all rolled up into one, and I wasn't kidding ♥

Richard Hugo = LOVE. Just saying.

Ness - by Richard Hugo

This is where those who hate monuments
pay last disrespects to the world. They've wrecked art,
cities, the language passed woman to man and back.
They've destroyed personal records, birth, school, marriage
and divorce. With luck they'll board a final ship
that flies a flag no color on earth.
They'll bribe the captain to destroy the record of death.
For them the horizon is a pass.
Beyond it the glamour and thrill of ignorant waste.

And I'll be one of them, no shame )

Everything the man touched is golden, I swear.
Between him and Richard Hugo, I just die.

Influential Writers
William Stafford

Some of them write too loud.

Some write the mauve poem
   over and over.

In our time a whole tribe have
   campaigned with noisy boots on—
   they look swashbuckling but
all the syllables finally run and hide.

Their swagger makes them feel good,
   but mobilizes opposition.

Listen—after a torrent begins even big rocks
have to get out of the way,
but at the top of the divide you can change
Mississippi to Columbia with one finger,
   and I did.

But I didn't want the Pacific this big.
