I love non-canon pairings. Non-canon pairings are awesome.

However, the next person who goes off, in a gen show discussion forum/post/anything, about how the show is being ruined by the lack of said pairing, or how the writers are idiots for not understanding this, or how they're going to stop watching the show if ~something~ doesn't happen soon/next season/whatever, I'm punching in the throat.

WHAT PART OF NON-CANON DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND? IT IS NOT CANON. IT PROBABLY WILL NOT BE CANON.

Enjoy your pairing, just keep the crazy out of gen posts, yeah?

(I avoided DW fandom for all of Season 5, and now I remember why. Although this applies across the board, to all fandoms great and small and everywhere.

I may be a Doctor/Rose shipper, but that does NOT make them the end-all-be-all...

Yeah, it was about Eleven and Amy, the comment. Hell, I ship Martha/Ten, so I clearly love non-canon shipping, I just never went off about them in gen chats, or felt the need to bash lovely Rose, y'know?

I OT3 the hell out of Eleven/Amy/Rory, though, so I get extra defensive on Rory's behalf.

But that's the case for all sorts of fandoms and shipping. It's just frustrating. =/

Non-canon shipping is the best! In Harry Potter, I occasionally ship Ginny/Remus, Hermione/Remus, Hermione/Sirius, Hermione/Charlie, and even Hermione/Barty Crouch Jr. (yes, I know!)... One of my HP OTPs that totally isn't canon is George/Luna, which totally doesn't get enough love in the shipping community.

And don't get me started on all the non-canon pairings I ship in my other fandoms... XD

\o/ *standing ovation* Honestly, I don't understand why people bother arguing about pairings at all. Sometimes I see those "GUISE. SHERLOCK AND JOHN ARE NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE SHOW, OKAY? SO, LIKE, WHY DON'T YOU TRY WRITING SOME OTHER PAIRING?" posts - and my response is pretty much, "GREAT. INSPIRATION. HAPPY WRITING, PERSON WHO COMPLAINS TOO MUCH!" Trufax.
